This website, known to many as The Bursars' Site, is maintained by the School of Educational Administration (the SEA). Our job is to help promote the position and well-being of all administrators in UK schools, be they called bursars, administrators or secretaries.

Indeed we ofter prefer to use the term Administrator to cover anyone who works in school administration in the UK because we find that in UK schools the terms are often mixed up. In a school where we might see one person doing what we would call a bursar's job, the notice on the office door announces "School Secretary". And so on.

On this site you will find details of our work which is amined at people more normally called Bursars - in other words the head of the administrative department. The website www.admin.org.uk tends to cover the work of those known as administrators.
